Overview

This is a pretreatment device for applying a conductive coating to the surface of a sample when performing electron microscope observation or elemental analysis. A carbon rod is used as the deposition source. For elemental analysis, carbon coating using this device may be more suitable than Pt-Pd (or Au-Pd) sputter coating, which results in the detection of Pt and Pd (or Au and Pd) peaks. The total time required, including preparation, vacuuming, deposition, and cleanup, is approximately 5 hours.
